Health Fair To Feature Healthy Cooking Demonstrations, Entertainment, Yoga And More
SAN LEANDRO, CA – (August 30, 2005) On Saturday, September 24, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., the San Leandro Collaborative for Children, Youth, and Families will be hosting a health fair at Bayfair Center. This event is free to the public and focuses on healthy lifestyles for the entire family.The fair will feature interactive exhibits and information from several health focused organizations, healthy cooking demonstrations, yoga and jazzercise classes, games, activities and more.
With more than 20 local and national organizations dedicated to healthy living participating in this event, there will be something for everyone, no matter the age.Families can learn about healthy eating habits and fun and exciting ways to exercise together. Children will benefit from learning and experiencing fun, health related activities designed specifically for them. Nationally known nutritionist and UC Berkeley Professor, Joanne Ikeda will also be joining the event to teach families the importance of taking care of your body and the best ways to do so.
Since 1995, the San Leandro Collaborative for Children, Youth, and Families has been dedicated to giving the children of San Leandro the opportunity to develop the values and skills to reach their full potential as members of a diverse community. The Collaboration coordinates partnerships among parents, youth, government, education, business, and community organizations to benefit the children of San Leandro.
